Why use Microsoft Outlook?

Microsoft Outlook is the recommended email client for businesses using Microsoft 365. It gives you full access to your email, calendar, contacts, and shared mailboxes in one place — and it stays in sync across all your devices automatically.

Unlike your device's built-in mail app, Outlook is designed specifically for Microsoft 365 accounts. It handles shared mailboxes, meeting requests, Teams integration, and automatic calendar updates more reliably, and it's regularly updated by Microsoft to stay compatible with your organisation's settings.

If your organisation uses shared mailboxes — such as reception@yourcompany.com.au or info@ — Outlook makes it straightforward to add and manage these alongside your personal inbox.

You'll need

  • Your Microsoft 365 work email address
  • Your Microsoft 365 password
  • Your phone for two-factor authentication
  • A Wi-Fi or mobile data connection
  • Microsoft Authenticator app (recommended)
